StackRack Battery Systems Approved for San Diego Community Solar Battery Savings Program

StackRack Battery Systems, a leading innovator in energy storage solutions, is excited to announce that its cutting-edge battery systems have been approved for inclusion in the San Diego Community Solar Battery Savings Program. This approval marks a significant milestone in StackRack’s mission to advance sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions. The San Diego Community Solar Battery Savings Program is an initiative designed to help residents reduce their energy bills and reliance on the grid by leveraging community-shared solar power paired with advanced battery storage. With the inclusion of StackRack Battery Systems, program participants can now enjoy a reliable and efficient energy storage solution that maximizes the benefits of solar power. “We are thrilled to be part of this forward-thinking program in San Diego,” said Dave Medinis, CTO of StackRack Battery Systems. “Our battery systems are engineered to offer superior performance, safety, and longevity. Being chosen as an approved equipment provider underscores the quality and reliability of our products and aligns perfectly with our commitment to driving clean and sustainable energy solutions.”

The San Diego Community Solar and Battery Savings Program offers tiered incentives to support SDCP customers in adopting solar and battery storage solutions. Market Rate customers can receive a $350/kWh incentive for battery storage, while Non-Market Rate customers, including those registered with CARE/FERA or in Communities of Concern, can receive up to $500/kWh for battery storage and $450/kW-AC for solar installations. The program also includes a performance-based incentive of $0.10/kWh for battery storage during on-peak periods, with flexible participation and prorated claw back for early unenrollment.

To qualify for the San Diego Community Solar and Battery Savings Program, customers must be active SDCP residential customers with eligible systems permitted by local authorities. Batteries must be charged by on-site solar, not the grid, and cannot participate in other demand response programs. Additionally, battery systems must be installed after submitting the SDCP application, with interconnection applications dated after contractor approval.
